Hi everyone. Before I start, something personal: even though I’ve been avoiding daily news (as part of my OCD management strategy), I’m aware that far right chaos and outrage are saturating the news. So I’m aware that unpacking a book critiquing a part of the left may seem disconnected from the burning fires of the moment.

All I can say is that doing this reading and writing is helpful to my effort to find ways to engage issues that are connected to the present political situation but not directly part of the headlines. This is literally part of my OCD treatment plan — a kind of exposure that is not easy for me but hopefully one that won’t blow out my circuits.

All of which is to say — if this just isn’t the time for you to give attention to this topic, please skip this post. I totally get it, and I am sending blessings for strength and mutual support to all who are being targeted or threatened by current actions by this Administration.
